Noted for its beautiful layered sandstone formation unique rock formations and petrified sand dunes, Red Rock is truly a photographer’s delight. You’ll see and learn about the desert plants and wildlife that inhabits the area, keep your eye can camera’s ready as most days you’ll come onto view of the wild burrows while completing the 13 mile scenic loop. The drive through the park consists of a couple of stops, to take some pictures or to just breathe in the fresh air can view the beauty of this natural wonder. After your visit to Red Rock Canyon we’ll stop at the JW Marriott Resort for a buffet lunch prior to heading for the skies.

After lunch we’ll start of climb to Mt. Charleston. Mt Charleston stands about 8500 feet above sea level and 6000 feet above the city of Las Vegas making it the third highest mountain peak in Nevada. As you climb to the mountains top you’ll leave the desert landscape and its Joshua Trees behind for an Alpine forest setting full of Cedar Tree’s & Bristlecone Pines. Keep a lookout for the many wild animals that call Mt Charleston home, such as wild burros, horses, and various birds including our national icon the eagle. Your trip up Mt. Charleston will consist of a number of stops where one can take in the amazing view of the valley below. We’ll even stop at one of the most famous stops of Mt Charleston that was used by many of the locals in the 1940’s as they watched the Nuclear Bomb tests from this safe distance. On the return to Las Vegas we’ll decent down the back side of the mountain as we slowly head towards the desert landscape again.
